Louisville, Kentucky (June 7, 2018) – Two of Louisvilles most spirited social groups, the Whisky Chicks and the Bourbon Brotherhood, are coming together to host the 5th Annual Bourbon Mixer on August 25th from 6:30pm-10:30pm at The Henry Clay. This fundraiser for the Coalition for the Homeless will combine great bourbon with upscale cuisine in a spirited atmosphere. Tickets are limited and can be purchased online at www.BourbonMixer.com. Tickets are $125, with special early bird pricing of $100 during July and $75 in June.
This year’s event, which is themed as a modern mid-century cocktail party, will once again include tastings of unique bourbons, bourbon cocktails, and bourbon-infused treats from 21 different distilleries. Attendees will also enjoy live music, appetizers and desserts, a silent auction with one-of-a-kind bourbon experiences and rare bottles of whisky, and the opportunity to mingle with other bourbon enthusiasts, Master Distillers and other bourbon celebrities. Beer and wine will also be served.
Participating distilleries include Woodford Reserve, Old Forester, Coopers’ Craft, Four Roses, Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark, Heaven Hill, Evan Williams, Rabbit Hole, Jefferson’s, Kentucky Artisan, Bulleit, Buffalo Trace, Starlight Distillery, Town Branch, Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery, Copper & Kings, Kentucky Peerless, New Riff, Ballotin Chocolate Whiskey, and Limestone Branch.
In its first four years, the Bourbon Mixer raised over $87,000 in total for various local charities. Organizers are announcing that from now on, proceeds raised at the event will go to support the Coalition for the Homelessand their work to eliminate homelessness in our city.
The Bourbon Mixer is the brainchild of Linda Ruffenach and Bruce Corwin, founders of the local social groups Whisky Chicks and the Bourbon Brotherhood. The Whisky Chicks create and share a variety of unique bourbon experiences in a relaxed social environment. The Bourbon Brotherhood meets monthly to indulge in bourbon and camaraderie. Both groups aspire to help members develop an appreciation of the taste and tradition of the Kentucky’s native spirit in the company of fellow bourbon lovers.
“The Bourbon Mixer is a fabulous experience to be involved in,” says Velma Watkins, Whisky Chick and Vice President of  Burdorf‘ Interiors, a sponsor of the 2017 event. “Not only as a sponsor of the lounge seating, but as an attendee as well. It just doesn’t get any better than this! We love the idea of having fun, meeting people, experiencing the rich history of bourbon all while helping a worthy cause in the city!”
“Were thrilled to have the opportunity to support the good work of the Coalition,” says Linda Ruffenach.

“Its a win-win to find a good purpose for indulging in something thats also an integral part of our Kentucky heritage,” Bruce Corwin adds.
