On Wednesday, May 21 the recently minted fowl specialist Dirty Bird (1022 Clarks Lane) announced that “today will be our last day of operations for the time being” in Louisville’s Audubon neighborhood, near far trendier Germantown.

Team Dirty Bird’s post at Facebook places the blame squarely on Kentucky’s Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
While The Dirty Bird is still in the licensing window, (owner Fred) Pizzonia said he has concerns about getting his license in the near future because of complaints, including those from a state ABC official, about the suggestive menu titles and signage at the restaurant.
