Carolyn is back from Iceland, and we hear all about it on this episode of the city’s coolest podcast about restaurants and bars. Plus, we’re glad to get a visit from Chef David Danielson. He’s been busy — opening his new restaurant in Simpsonville this week while planning to host thousands of racing fans and some high-profile chefs at Churchill Downs.
Danielson tells us about the Old Stone Inn, which opens to the public this week. Speaking of openings, we were excited to hear that the building on Frankfort Avenue that housed Clifton’s Pizza for 28 years will re-open soon as Steve O’s Italian Kitchen.
Wednesday is Halloween, so we chat up the controversy over trick-or-treat hours, but the real story in town this week is Breeders’ Cup, which hasn’t stopped here since 2011. That means local restaurants and nightclubs will be packed, including Fourth Street Live! The Street is holding three free concerts – starting with local fave Linkin’ Bridge on Thursday, with the Spazmatics on Friday and Burning Las Vegas on Saturday.
Finally, Carolyn brought in her road buddy Demi Green for some tales of Icelandic culinary treats. It’s all in a great episode of EatDrinkTalk.
