Now here’s an interesting bottle of bourbon I’d like to have.

Last week, Evan Williams Bourbon released a 107-proof version of its single barrel bourbon that surely will be dramatically bolder than its standard 86-proof sibling. At 8 years old, it’s 2 years younger than the brand’s regular release, and at $74.99 per bottle, it’s about three times costlier than that model, too.EWBE_KDFBottle_2017_Cutout

As an official sponsor of the Kentucky Derby Festival, the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience in downtown Louisville (and some select area retailers) is where you’ll have to go to get this 2017 Kentucky Derby Festival unique bottle. It’s dipped in a unique gold wax with a commemorative Pegasus pin sealed atop the cap. It also features a special face label with the Kentucky Derby Festival logo, and includes a 2017 Pegasus Pin in an envelope attached to each bottle.

That this release is bottled at 107 proof commemorates the 62nd Kentucky Derby Festival and 45th Pegasus Pin anniversary.

All these factors could make it a nice collector’s bottle if you’re collector of Kentucky Derby stuff, an EW fan or want to hunt for a secondary market source who is.
