At inception, I thought the worker-owned Old Louisville Coffee Co-Op (316 W. Ormsby Avenue in Old Louisville) was a great story.
The Old Louisville Coffee Co-Op is coming to Ormsby Avenue
Some will scoff, although I hope it’s obvious that non-worker-owned coffee shops and eateries don’t always last four years. Let’s accept the little glimmers of hope as it pertains to reshaping business as usual.
Sadly, Sunday, March 22 will be the coffee co-op’s last day.

It is with a deeply heavy heart that we share that after almost 4 years of operation, we have made the decision to close our doors Sunday, March 22nd.
This decision was not made lightly, and though we are sad to see this chapter come to an end, we have collectively decided to end on a high note. We believe we and the community are forever changed for the better because of the co-ops’ existence...Read more
