This new Indian spot has more than one name depending on the source, but I’m flipping a coin and going with Turmeric Cafe & Bistro, as it is at Instagram and the incomplete website. Facebook has it as Turmeric Indian Bistro & Banquet Hall.
The internet tells us that 4742 Bardstown Rd. in Buechel formerly was home to Dakshin South Indian Restaurant, which seems to have closed quietly for remodeling late last year before emerging with new owners and management as Turmeric, which is billing an “Unlimited Lunch Buffet” from 11:30 a.m to 3:00 p.m. (closed Tuesdays), with dinner hours coming from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Furthermore, my attention was captured by a comment at Instagram, in which an obviously excited diner pointed out that gongura curry is on the Turmeric Cafe & Bistro menu. That’s a new dish for me, and helpfullly this fellow out in Salt Lake City explains...
