With the arrival of Phalcha Coffee, Germantown has Nepali flavor
The Spring 2024 issue of Food & Dining Magazine is now available in all the familiar places: Louisville area eateries and food shops, newsstands and online.
Apologies for inserting a wee bit of musical irreverence. Kathmandu is Nepal’s capital city in the Himalayas, a destination for 1960s-era hippies in search of legal hashish. I was too young for all that, and consequently Bob Seger made the geographical introductions later, circa 1975.

The owners are the husband and wife team of Bishal Suwal and Kriti Malla, and also sisters Priya and Shristi Ghale; in their native Nepal, the word phalcha means a place for travelers to rest (additionally implying a venue, as for meetings and events).
